IEIMobile launches MODAT-335 Field Service Terminal

[Taipei, Taiwan, April 03, 2012] IEIMobile announced the launch of the MODAT-335, a highly integrated terminal designed for the mobile field workforce.

Field service operators often face problems such as untimely information updates and delayed access to organizational resources while on the road.  This greatly impedes their ability to make on-site decisions and provide quality service to customers.  Back-offices, on the other hand, often have problems keeping track of their field workforce and providing necessary support when issues arise.  In order to stay ahead of the game and remain competitive in the market, solutions to streamline workflow and increase operation visibility are the answer.

A mobile field workforce equipped with a handheld terminal featuring wireless and data capture capabilities can access and transmit information to and from organizational databases instantly.  This allows back-offices to keep track of the mobile workforce and allocate resources with increased efficiency.  IEIMobile’s MODAT-335 is one such device designed specifically to meet these field service applications.  Based on the Marvell® PXA 310 624MHz CPU and Windows® Mobile 6.5 OS, the MODAT-335 featuresa selection of wireless functions such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and WCDMA/HSDPA or GPRS together with a built-in GPS antenna. Wireless communications enable the workforce to stay connected to back-offices for efficient real-time information transmission.  With seamless connectivity, the MODAT-335 is ideal for fleet and inventory tracking, job dispatches, remote update of work status and the creation of notifications and service orders.

In addition to a variety of wireless options, the MODAT-335 has a built-in 1D/2D barcode scanner and a 13.56MHz RFID reader for superior data capturing functions. In order to support the different frequency ranges that are increasingly popular in the market, a UHF (Ultra-High Frequency) RFID reader with a frequency range of 125 KHz to 2.45 GHz is available as an optional accessory.  With these integrated data capture functions, information obtained during services can be transmitted in real-time to the database, therefore eliminating the risk of human handling errors.

The MODAT-335 is able to withstand tough outdoor conditions. With its IP54 rating and 1.5M drop survival it can function in moist environments, sustain accidental drops, and operate and be stored in a wide range of temperatures.  Furthermore, an optional handle grip is available in the accessory list for improved reading angles and increased convenience.  The MODAT-335 is a truly easy-to-use mobile terminal with advanced wireless and data acquisition technologies and ergonomic design for the field service workforce.
